Adopt a dolphin
Every year, thousands of dolphins accidentally drown in fishing nets. The increase in human activities has put the survival of dolphins in oceans and seas all over the world at serious risk. Adopt a dolphin and support our work!
Dolphins are generally social creatures that live in groups – called pods – which can contain hundreds of individuals. These charismatic and intelligent mammals are found in most oceans around the world, as well as in some of the world’s largest rivers.

Adopt a dolphin, support our work
Animal adoptions like yours give a huge boost to our work. They not only help fund projects working with sustainable fisheries that minimise the number of animals accidentally caught but also fund our other vital work related to the Adriatic Sea. We work to establish marine protected areas (MPAs) to ensure dolphins and other mammals have a safe place to feed, reproduce and migrate freely. The presence of dolphins often leads to ecotourism opportunities which offer alternative livelihoods to local communities. Your symbolic adoption supports our work
Did you know?
Wonderful dolphins, beloved by all generations, have a wide home-range of 85 km2. They are affected by various factors. In the ocean, noise travels further and louder under the water than it does in the air. Noise – from ship engines and seismic surveys – can stress and injure dolphins, and disrupt their natural behavior and navigation.
Pollutants not only make dolphins sick, reducing their ability to fight infections and diseases, they also contaminate the habitats and the ecosystems dolphins are part of. Scarcity of prey as a result of overfishing and environmental degradation is also affecting dolphins severely.

Dolphins can get accidentally caught or entangled in fishing gear and drown – this is known as bycatch. Dolphins also get hit by ships and injuries can prove fatal.
The effects of climate change on marine food chains could have lasting impacts worldwide.
